Prem (ka) patra

in Mudgao station
dep junta...in Mudgao station during Goa trip

....got a mail from Prem Shankar(one of my dep-mates in in IIT Kgp) today....just can't stop marvelling at his poetic talent. Though this would not make much sense to people outside the Dept of Ocean Engg and Naval Architecture but those who have attended the classes of the profs he is talking about would get the point.

Mukherjee mere yaar
Ye pics jo hain do chaar
Unko kripaya Yahoo Mail pe bhej do
Kyonki shayad tumhe yaad ho
Yahan IRS mein zindagi thodi mand hai
Yahan per Yahoogroups band hai

Un tasveeron ko dekhkar yaad aayenge wo pal
Aankhon ke aage naach jayega wo beeta hua kal

Woh Goa ka safar,wo train mein gaane gaana
Sudip da ki awaaz, aur Computer ka tabla bajaana

Woh Bhar ki class mein,Anand ko GPL laagana
Woh SCM ki class mein, sawaal puche jaane pe muh chipaana

Woh Dep treats mein,Gymlet pee ke hurhdang machaana
Woh Data Structures ki lab mein,FTP karke jaan bachaana

Woh break mein Peter's jaakar chai ki chuski udaana
Woh Chhedi's ka tinkoo, woh Billoo's ka khaana

Woh Sattu ki lab mein, Vacuum Cleaner chalaana
Wo Bhar ki class mein, peeche baith kar sustaana

Absent hone pe dena Medical ka bahaana
Kahan gaya woh copy paste ka zamaana?

Aaj badi dhoom hai, laga hai un yaadon ka mela
Unki bheerh mein khoya hoon, fir bhi hoon kitna akela

Zindagi badi khaali hai unke bin
Kaash laut aate wo guzre hue din

Baygon ad

Baygon ad
Except for the advertisements during the superbowl most of the ads here have failed to impress. Have to accept that when it comes to wit and innovation the Indian advertising brains are a notch above.

Snow White

snow removal
A month after the blizzard....the roads now look slightly better. The state has put in a lot of effort in dumping the snow in sea and barren lands. Rhode Island, which is such a small state, incurred an expense of $50,000 per hour during the blizzard. Seen in the picture is a snow removing vehicle at work.
We again have forecast of snow tonight. Hope it doesn't get too bad.

innovative Japs

The japanese do come up with innovative ideas. But I have 2 questions about these photographs.

1> The main problem with putting the eyedrop in your eyes is that u bat your eyelids a lot in the process and that isn't solved here. & . Won't some of the medicine stick to the walls of the funnel.

2> Folding this umbrella after the rain
Isn't that quite a bit of pain

Laloo sucks

Laloo/Lalu - Rabri
Laloo(rechristened Lalu....god knows why) and Raabri Devi have always been in the news for wrong reasons. Remaining seated while the national anthem was being played is just another case in the point. I think this move(or the lack of movement with the NA on) was pretty deliberate....just a publicity stunt.
I remember the BSP leader Mayawati saying that "...when i called Gandhi 'son of a demon', the press criticised me a lot but they were giving me free publicity in the process and I was so happy about it ! "
.....just anything goes for publicity...Lalu must be pretty happy about the media attention he is getting for this incident.
With leaders like these....god bless india.
